Do you believe in fairytale endings?

Like in the movie friends with benefits where mila kunis and justin timberlake are in NYC and they fall in love.... Or any other romantic movie for that matter. Do you believe in "happily ever afters"? Or am I romanticizing life ?

I think the standard definition of 'happily-ever-after' is pretty much boy-meets-girl, they fall in love, get married and then no one gives a f*ck about what happens afterwards.

Honestly, love movies aren't really a depiction of life and if someone's ultimate goal is to get married/fall in love then that's completely unrealistic. Fair enough, love may be one goal, and marriage may happen, but life happens after that and there's probably going to be some ups and downs, you will probably have other goals than just being married (career, kids, holiday, idk).

I think it is a simplified romanticised depiction of life tbh because life is complicated, and getting married/finding 'true love' doesn't guarantee eternal happiness

My parents met when my mum was 16, married when my mum was 18....and pregnant......and sustained a happy and contented marriage until my dad's death this September just gone. My dad literally looked with love into her eyes until the life went out of him.......yep, I believe that fairytale endings are possible. My parents were married for 54 years.

confident because of the fact i'm the damsel in misery and the night in shining armour all rolled up in one. If i'm super sufficient to get myself right into a fairytale mess then i'm super sufficient to get myself out.

Fairytale/sappy love/chickflick type books and movies make me want to vomit. I HATE those kinds of movies. And i'm a straight girl, too.

I think happy endings aren't impossible, but you definitely don't see them in real life as often as you do in movies and books.

Life sucks and then you die miserably ever after. The End.
