Cows are fairly intelligent,so much that they can recognize faces, voices & words. The last two only when they are domesticated. This is one main reason that its milk consumption is highly appreciated for all ages of Indians. It's milk & ghee contains Vitamin A.

For e.g.when a cow herd's owner was attacked by a tiger while cows were grazing in a pasture land,as the owner was running away, the cows immediately started milling around,so that the attacking tiger can't spot out owner,in such a way that after searching for 5 to7 minutes, the tiger had to give up.

Cows are surprisingly intelligent. Not as intelligent as a pig but similar to a sheep. Sheep has been shown to recognize faces, and a recent experiment has demonstrated that cows can also recognize individual cow faces. It has also been shown that when dairy cows are played recordings of calves, they increase their milk production.
