As far as i know you should have insurance that is mandatory. It doesn't make any difference if its Comprehensive or Third party for you.

Only concern here is if your car is new then better to go for comprehensive one as maximum damage will be covered in it by Insurance company. Third party Insurance only cover opposite party damage. you won't get single penny from your insurance company.

If its old and second hand car then my suggestion go for third party one as valuation of insurance is low and insurance agent make you fool asking to pay more n more amount for your vehicle.
