Dial up connections have a data transfer speed of 56 kbit/s. Broadband connections have 16 MBit/s or higher if fibre glass cable connections are available. The router distributes the data having been received by the modem via the cable connection. If that connection is slow, a router changes nothing.

No way, by using router your internet speed won't increase. Your using dial up connection so, obviously net speed will be slow....go for Broadband connection with 4 to 6 Mbps....

No it won't.
Dial ups are basically very slow.
Get a broadband connection.
A router wouldn't help increasing your speed if you use a dial up connection.

Routers dont increase internet velocity, they only generate wifi sign so that you could hook up with identical internet (with some thing bandwidth you're subscribed to). To get extra speed, you need to get a better plan out of your web provider supplier.

I assume that yours is an ADSL connection. Opt for a faster connection, unlimited plan. Say 2 MBPS UL. Wired connections are always faster than wifi connection. You may go in for 3G also.
