At what age should a T1D be independent to manage their diabetes. My daughter is 6 and school RN is parttime.?
I need to return to work no daycare/babysitter wants to be trained/accept her.

You need to have a 504 plan in place for your daughter in school.

At age 6, your lovely daughter is not ready to be in charge of her diabetes care alone.Since the nurse in only part time, there must be another adult in the building to help her manage .That is mandatory and it is the law.
As for baby sitters look to adults rather than teens.They are often able to help with your child and not have a problem with the diabetes.
One of my daughters has had diabetes since she was 2.She is now 22 and very capable of caring for her own diabetes.If I even ask about it, she get;'s upset.
