Expiry date options BP & Devon?

What are the expiry dates for Devon $60 Calls Jan 2013 and BP $40 Calls Jan 2013.

On Yahoo Finance it says (on the Jan13 option page) 18th Jan & 3rd Jan and on the actual page of the option it says 13th Jan & 13th Jan.

13th Jan is Sunday??

Update:

Is it not the third Friday (18th., or Sat 19th?)

Yes, these stock options trade until the stock market closes on the 3rd Friday. That would be Jan 18th. They are American style options.

Although equity options literally expire on the third Saturday of the expiration month, a day reserved for brokerage firms and The Options Clearing Corporation to confirm customers' positions, the day expiring equity options last trade is the Friday before expiration, or the third Friday of the month.

Monthly options expire on the Saturday following the third Friday of the month. For January, 2013, that is January 19th.

However, BP also has weekly options that expire on every Friday except the third Friday of the month. That means BP has options expiring on the 4th, 11th, 19th and 25th of January, 2013.

I have not looked at Yahoo option quotes for some time, but I know there used to be problems with them. I recommend you use the CBOE delayed quotes at

    http://www.cboe.com/DelayedQuote/QuoteTable.aspx

instead. The format of these options symbols is

    The stock simbol

    The two digit year

The two digit day of the month

A one characater code for the month and type of option*

    The strike price

    A dash

    The exchange.

*The one characater code for the month and type of option runs from A for a January call to L for a December call and M for a January put through X for a December put.

I did not look up Devon but you can check the quotes from the CBOE the same way.

It is as you say, the third Friday.

    See the calendar here:

    http://www.marketwatch.com/optionscenter/calendar/...

January 2013 is misinterpreted as Jan 13th. It is actually January 19th, 2013. Note: The market is closed on Saturday, so your last opportunity to trade those January options is the 18th day, which is the third Friday.
