Why is it harder to vote than it is to buy a weapon?

Update:

Why do some of these people say you NEED a background check for a gun when I bought a gun from a buddy of mine, registered it, but NOBODY looked into my background. Meanwhile, I was constantly questioned about my voting eligibility in the state I was born in & lived in my whole life?

    And herein lies the problem.

We need to do some serious soul searching about this question.

It is MUCH easier to vote than buy a firearm. If you are not referring to firearms but say knives or clubs then hell-there are weapons all around so that should be compared to voting (for American Idol) as there is no way to control all of that.

As far as your situation-the different states have different laws regarding gun sales and registration (some don't even require registration). Private sales are always easy if you have the cash-even if the government were to totally regulate guns it would be easy-that's called a black market.

You did the responsible thing by registering, however county clerks don't really care about whether you are fit to own or not because you ALREADY HAVE THE WEAPON! You just won't register it if you don't want to.

It is because of black market situations than gun control laws will never work. Look at drugs in this country-they are illegal (except for the few the government deems acceptable) yet I guarantee everyone that reads this could get their hands on marijuana, cocaine, meth, whatever in about 3 phone calls if they wanted to-even though its illegal... The same is true for guns.

That's a question, that's been floating around, for some time now... Seems when it comes to Amendments... Some like one Amendment, more than the others... Its oddly enough, not at all unlike the Bible... Some like the scripture, an eye for an eye... While others like, love thy neighbor... Those that like to pick & chose, from ether writing... Will always be a problem... If a person isn't going to bother to read, the entire writing, its really not worth reading, at all.... But being human, as we all are... That's done, by most of us...

In all fairness, its necessary to mention... Background checks, are required, when buying a gun, threw your local gun dealer, in your town... But not, when your buying, at a gun show... Its also interesting to note... Background checks, are not allowed to stay on file, for more than 48 hours... Some say, 24 hours...

Don't know if you have ever voted, but you sure have not bought a gun, at least not legally. Have to show ID, fill out a form, wait for background check. Maybe we should have the same requirements for both.

I showed up 2 the mall with no ID and then voted....that was much easier then spending $$$ and going through a 2 day background check.

Are you talking about the registration process? Nope still easier to vote

    It's not.

You can thank our Republican friends for this. They think by usng their racism and poorism they can win elections

  • It isn't and literally 100% of the non-retarded know that.
