Can I get a hysterectomy?

I am a 14 year old girl and I am experiencing bad stomach problems during my period. It is happening right now! The last couple of times this has happened i just wanted to die or have someone kill me because the pain was sooooo bad!! I really don't want to have my period anymore. If I do I might die for real! I live in Florida, would they give me a hysterectomy?? My period is heavier than usual too!

NO, you can't!!! That would mean that you'd never be able to get pregnant & no respectable doctor would let you make that decision at 14. They wouldn't even let me make it at 28 & they were right!!! I'm sorry you get terrible cramping. I suggest you research ways to lessen the cramping. I drink hot Chamomile tea with Honey & that helps a lot. It doesn't stop them, but does make them a little less uncomfortable!!! I prefer Tylenol to Motrin. Most of all, you just need to accept the cramping as part of your period & try different ways to help make them less. I never died from cramping although there were times that I felt like I would. Some people here says eating Bananas will help. Although I've never tried that one, I think if I were you I'd try it & see if it helps!!!

No doctor will let a minor get a hysterectomy. General age you have to be is 25 I think. The reason being is that you're still growing. And it's a big deal. What if you want to have kids one day? Doctors could get into trouble if they performed an otherwise unnecessary surgery on a child (or any person) without good reason.

Most OB/GYN doctors would not perform a hysterectomy on someone of your age unless it was medically necessary because it is a liability issue for them. Hysterectomy is a permanent solution to what may be a temporary state - like cutting your head off when you have a headache. Once you have one, you will never be able to have children. I would suggest that you talk to your Mom about this. Being female and having dealt with periods herself, she'd be the best person to advise you on this or determine whether you need to see a doctor for this.

That’s a big problem for such a young woman. Go to your doctor and let them check it out usably its sorted out quickly. GET some BC, this is all part of being a woman, You have to think of your future, if you want children, a hysterectomy you nee to be on heavy meds for the rest of your life, you don’t want to wake up one morning longing for children and you cant change that, speak to your mom about it, drink a pain pill, warm bath and eat banana and chocolate. Drink some peppermint tea and put a heat pad on the area ;-)

Well i don't know if you could, because i'm only 13 and i'm not specialized in that aspect. But i heard that you can go on birth control which will regulate your periods and make them not as heavy and painful! Hope all works out!

Hysterectomy will be done only due to medical reasons at this age.
