I know that rabbits like to lick people but is it bad for your skin?

When a rabbit licks you, it sometimes means that they like you or they just like the salt in your skin. I know that already but is it bad for humans to get lick by rabbits or other pets? Someone told me you can get pimples or acne from rabbit's licks?

I do have pimples in my forehead but I dout its from the rabbits.

Licking doesn't have anything to do with salt. They lick to groom you, to accept you as an equal, my rabbits don't lick me as they view me as their lowly slave. Which I am.

Unless you have very sensitive skin or an actual allergy, then the licking should not give you any skin complaints.

Rabbit licks are purely from affection, ot salt or grooming related. I read it an article called " language of the lagomorphs( the scientific name or rabbits). You can't necessarily get acne from rabbit's licks, and it definitely is not bad for your skin. You can get acne but it wouldn't be directly related. Perhaps your rabbit is licking all the moisture off your face, therefore acne is created due to loss of moisture, the obvious solution would be moisturizing the face. Never use scented lotion or anything that a rabbit could injest when giving you kisses. It is probably more beneficial to your skin than harmful. You may ot know this, but you have millions of dust mites and layers of dead skin on the outside of your body right now( which is why we shower daily), and the rabbits licking will clean all that junk off before even touching fresh skin.

No, it is very good. Especially when a bunny licks your wounds, they are trying to heal you and show you they care for you. Because they lick their own wounds. If you're afraid that it's not hygenic, just wash wherever the rabbit licked. It's okay though. My 7 rabbits are licks me on my face, shoulder, hand, arm, legs, etc. And it's been 5 years, and I am perfectly healthy with heathly skin. But sometimes, they are trying to heal you and show you they care for you AND lick the salt.

Source(s): I have 7 very active, cute funny bunnies. I have owned 6 of them for 5 years and got another one 5 months ago.

The rabbit is licking the salt out of your sweat off your palms. a brilliant style of small pets will try this. verify with a puppy save to make certain if there are salt supplementations you're able to be able to supply the rabbit.

it isn't from the rabbits, it's from your hormones.

licking can cause raw spots though- so limit the kisses
