What are some types of dogs that are great to travel with?

I am thinking of getting a dog for my birthday next march, it will have to be a small breed and prefarbly a breed that is great for carrying and enjoys travelling and cars, etc. I was looking into a Chihuahua but some feedback I have got is that they are not naturally friendly dogs and not great for travelling. I was wondering if there are any past owners of Chihuahuas on here that could give some more info on this?

I have also been looking into Shih Tzu's but they look like they need a lot of grooming!

What other dogs are there that are friendly and small and good for travelling?

I have a chihuahua and a chihuahua doxen mix i got from the shelter. My chihuahua is really mean and doesnt except pets from anyone but me. On the other hand my chiweeny is the sweetest most fun loveing dog i have and she loves to ride in cars. i personally would say adopt a small dog from your local shelter. (: if not and you want a pure breed, there are some great small dogs to travel with.

    1. Doxen (careful though their backs a somewhat fragile especially as they get older.)

    2. Miniature poodle (they are sometimes difficult to groom because their fur need trimmed.)

    3. boston terrier.

    4. Labrador retriever (i know they aren't small but they are great for travel because of their friendly nature and ability to adapt to new environments.)

    5.Yorkie

    6. Beagle

    7. Shi Tzu

    8 miniature Schnauzer

    9.Miniature Pinscher

    hope this helped (:

Forget carrying. The dog needs to walk.

Any well trained dog will do fine in cars and will be friendly, including Chihuahuas. Shih Tzus only need clipping every so many weeks and a brushing a few times a week.

RVing with a canines could be fairly some exciting. the terrific variety of canines so you might RV with one that has one in each of those personnatlity which you desire to be around. as a result you have got the desire to basically be sure you have a properly behavied canines it somewhat is sturdy in public. you would be in close proximity and if the canines has behaviors that rigidity you "slightly loopy" it's going to be magnified in a small area. Personnally i do unlike yappie canines and to stay with many toy breeds might die me loopy. on the different hand adventure tells me that a Newf and 3 Keeshonden on a classification C RV made getting down the aisle slightly tight. * think of on the subject of one in each of those RV you would be on. How the abode windows open and are monitors defend in case you may go away them open, and a canines lungs at them. My human beings had a keeshond get away artist as quickly as that pushed out a extensive sliding monitors. *think of roughly the place you would be parked with the RV - will you be in camp grounds or parking a lot? Will you be set up for prolonged periolds of time or moving daily. how can you enable for the canines to have exterior time? mutually as you may walk it on leash all of the time? Will you're taking exercising pens to establish or will you tie the canines out ingredient? *think of on the subject of the floor plan - the place interior the RV do you anticipate that the canines will cling out.and sleep - spare mattress then the size isn't as plenty a topic as at the back of the chair. * in case you would be moving approximately communicate to your vet and purely be sure you have an wisely stocked puppy first aide equipment and understand the thank you to apply the failings in it. What might you do for a badly decrease paw in case you the place in a distant section over an hour form a vet - or if the canines jumped out of the RV and wrenched a shoulder. *savour some sturdy time with a great chum.

How about a miniature Schnauzer? They're probably about 10-13 inches tall. (From floor to shoulder) They are really nice, great traveling partners, and loyal. I believe they are usually white or gray, but you can get blue-ish ones too. Hope this helps!
