Why is Yahoo Answers Allowing a User to Post Death Threats Against Wiccans?

Why is Yahoo Answers allowing a user to post --on a nearly daily basis since the Newtown event--death threats against people identifying as Wiccans and witches? This despite numerous complaints against the user?

Update:

Problem is, I have reported this wingnut and I am sure others have as well. In the past Yahoo would ban such folks and even make them have to get a new IP to "play" again but it is apparently not doing a thing about this character.

Update 2:

Thank you (but no thanks to people who can't read a question--yes reports were made against this person and were routinely ignored. I have participated on this side for 5 years now--I know how reporting and banning work.) Mission accomplished for now.

Best thing to do is just report it when you see such posts.

They can only delete it when they get alerted to it enough.

I do believe that because death threats are routinely involved that the police and social services should be involved right now to make sure this child is not being abused or a threat to society.

The person doing this here lately is a teenybopper. He's a 14 year old little boy who is pretty messed up in the head to want so viciously to kill people... I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering about whether he is one of the kinds of people who would one day walk into a public place and shoot it up.

In general "community moderation" is not effective. Many answers which clearly violate community guidelines are left up, even if reported by several people. There is no human being behind the moderation. It is a computer program that sees some users as "trusted" and others as not. The best thing to do is NOT call out the user (it also violates community guidelines) and continue to report the abuse. I suspect that to a certain extent the lax enforcement is intentional - trolling questions get more answers than others do and some users have taken on a persona of being the troll-busters. I think YA may think that having that conflict increases interest in the site. Perhaps, but it's enough to drive normal people off - It's all quite annoying to most people. Just report and ignore. Hopefully if enough others report the violations, the question will eventually be taken down. And it looks like in this case they were.

Questions are not automatically deleted for content. They must first be reported by the community. If enough people report the question who do not have a history of unwarranted reporting, then the question will be deleted and the person's Yahoo ID may be deleted. That won't stop them from creating another one, so the best thing is simply,

    "Do not feed the troll"

    Ignore the question and person.

First, you must know Yahoo will not supply out your email deal with, so nobody's got any type of entry to your personal understanding as a way to be ready to track down your pc. If to your profile here, you are permitting e mail contact, Yahoo sends the emails so that your electronic mail deal with is saved private. That is why it appears to come from Yahoo. Go into your profile and ensure you change your information and no longer permit electronic mail contact. Anyone's simply being an a s s and looking to scare you. They haven't discovered find you.

    Report it.

One of my favorite R & S moments was when a poster made death threats against a Wiccan and her children, then not five minutes later posted a question asking why Christians had better morals than any other group. These nuts actually believe death threats are moral and Godly.

Clearly his stuff really is getting deleted. But he keeps posting the same threats over and over so it creates an illusion of his posts hanging around, I suspect.

I do wish they would ban him. However, it is easy enough to set up a new account and start over with the same harassment, unfortunately.

Either report him or ignore him. Anything else just encourages him.

    I don't know.

There is an atheist named "Christian Slayer" who has repeatedly said that she will kill off any Christians that she can get her hands on.

It wasn't until Christians started posting her questions in the same manner as you just did that SOME of her questions were removed. Her account is still active but she rarely comes around anymore. Maybe she is in prison for finally killing a Christian?

Brenda: That's a lie. If that were true, then why are so many Christians like myself getting reported for questions about atheists? None of my questions that criticize Christians have been reported. Odd. It's also strange that Christian prayer requests are constantly reported. I wonder who is doing that? Christians?

Good Question, even I thank Wiccans are a rogue church out of touch with God, the death threats are letting people that are much more out of line then they are is very wrong and should not be allowed.

If that is happening report it because that is a violation of the network's rules.
