Well, I used to care what people thought of me in terms of religion. Though, now I don't. It takes time before you have the courage to proclaim what you believe or what you think you might believe, in this case. This is okay; you're just not spiritually matured yet. That is what the sacraments are for, they are spiritual food and will help you grow spiritually. Everyone in the Church is constantly growing in faith.
So, I advise you to pray that God, the Father leads you to the One True Faith and that the Holy Spirit grant you the graces that you need to do His Holy will.
Prayer is absolutely one of the most important things a Christian should be doing every day. Please do not get out of the habit of praying and if you are not in the habit of praying then you should start. I made the mistake of getting out of the habit of praying and now it is kind of a struggle in a way for me to pray every day.
Additionally, depending on where you live, there may or may not be bad sentiments about the Catholic faith. Often times this is just because people are uninformed so you should keep that in mind if people seem to not like the idea. And rather than just listening to what other people tell you about the Catholic faith, you should do research yourself since they could be wrong or not understand why we believe what we believe.
Now, I will tell you why I am Catholic:
I have come to realize that the Catholic Church is the Church that Jesus Christ created. Historically, this is true. There were not any other Christian faiths until the 1500's. In contrast, the Catholic Church has been around since the time of the Apostles and has the same exact teachings it had back then since the truth does not change. You can even look up the writings of the early Church Fathers and the beliefs are the same as they are today. Simply just do research and you will find this to be true.
If you have any questions about the Catholic Faith this is a very good site to ask questions:

I agree w/ tebone, Misty and all the different Catholics on right here who tried that can help you you. because they have coated many of the Catholic faith, I received't extremely clarify a lot more advantageous, because i will only be repeating them. Catholicism became certainly depending by technique of Christ, earlier he ascended into Heaven. only thousands of years later did Martin Luther insurrection adverse to Catholicism and its Church because he did not consider lots of its teachings. After him, many different reformers began forming their own church homes and ideology and claimed that theirs became the actual church, at the same time as in reality, the Catholic church has remained commonplace in its teachings. definite, there have been mistakes the CC did, yet each church, Protestant/Catholic, has made them. do not hear to the Catholic bashers on right here, quite Chris. And if everyone says that we worship Mary and the saints and under no circumstances God, they extremely could look into the Catholic faith earlier they condemn/criticisize. The Catholic Church also has devotions to Jesus, which include the Divine Mercy Chaplet. in case you replace to Catholicism, attempt going to the Latin Mass. that's amazingly ideal, has a more advantageous reverent style of worship, and it became the first style of Mass earlier Vatican II.

If you want to investigate Catholicism, go ahead. Since when is knowledge bad? If your friends don't like it, too bad.

Who cares? Isn't it your business and not theirs? It will be as big a deal as you make it. If you start pulling out your rosary when you are hanging out watching football, people are going to notice. You don't have to wear your "I'M A CATHOLIC" T-shirt every day.

You're entitled to your own opinions/beliefs. If anyone looks down on you for being true to yourself that shows what narrow-minded bigots they are.

Just don't tell them about it? Lying is really easy and can be used to avoid all sorts of uncomfortable situations.

Why are you worried?
Also if you are worried about what they may say about the Catholic church why not study the Orthodox Church?

After all the rape and child abuse by priests cases that have popped up recently why are you so surprised my advice is to lie as it seems to be a big part of their religion and will be good practice for you

Who cares how they treat you, if they can't accept you as you are, then they are not really friends.
