What are some cool guitar scales?

I want to make a guitar solo and i know like 5 scales and i want to learn some more

    A good guitar teacher can assess your current skill level and your goals. From there he or she can recommend what you need to learn. Chances are, you don't need to learn more scales. You just need to learn to use the scales you already know.

    Oh, and I like the Byzantine, Harmonic Minor, Hirojoshi and Blues scales :-)

    Why don,t you try listening to some cool leads.The majority of you great guitar players were self taught.didn,t have a clue about scales, they learned leads note for note from there favorite artists. then went from there.     I started playing in 77, been a few years ago, hasen,t been any real new music come out in the last ten years.all just rehash of all the greats.

    I mean no offence, but it says so much about the state of music and peoples approach to making it when someone wants to know some "cool" SCALES!!!

    Pentitonic, mixolydian, minors, dorian, bebop scales, there are alot those are the ones I use most

    try modes such as mixolydian, dorian, aeolian, lydian.
