why wont my car stereo installation kit fit right?

i have a 2000 buick century custom and i had the wiring and everything done and had it in my dash but the whole kit tilted to the back because my radio was to long to fit right and when i went to put the dash back on it wouldn't fit with the stereo i don't know why the stereo wont fit. can somebody help me please im an armature
