Corset waist training question..?

So I want to start waist training not too far though. I have a 27.5 inch waist and want a 26 inch waist without changing my hips etc. I was wondering if a normal fabric corset can change your waist size as much as a specific steel boned corset? Or do both make an effect?

    Hi,

the corset can be made from different fabrics and can be equipped with plastic, flat steels or steel spirals. The main differences between the corsets are their quality and of course price.

Some corsets are called as "fashion corsets". They are worn as top usually. They are designed for waist reduction about 1". They are made from light thin fabrics and are reinforced with plastic bones usually. They are cheap with low durability. The plastic bones can twist, they don't hold shape of the corset and you can rip out the grommets for back lacing. The fabric can easy stretch. Sizing is usually S, M, L,...

The authentic corsets designed for waist reduction are made today with a steel front busk to open or close the corset. They are made from heavy fabrics like "Jacquard". The corset is usually reinforced with 10 or up to 20 steel spiral bones and with 4 back flat steel springs beside two rows of the grommets for lacing. Some corsets can be equipped with underbusk, it is flat 1 1/2" wide steel placed in the fabric under the front busk. The grommets can be placed in the lacing bones or they can be firm placed in the fabric with reinforcing steels. It prevents ripping out of the grommets.

The corset can be reinforced with steel spirals or flat steels. The main difference between them is their flexibility. The steel's spirals are bendable in two directions, the flat steel bones only in one direction. They are more unyielding.

The front busk can be strait or "spoon" shaped. The spoon busk is wide 3-4" over abdomen to keep the belly flat. It is often used for the heavy boned unyielding corsets.

If you wish to enhance curves of your figure and take inches of your waist down, look for a corset on www. There are many steel boned corsets for reasonable price. But the good worked out corset isn't cheap.

The corsets are made as an underbust- or over-bust models with or without garters. The are designed to reduce waist about 4" than is natural waist size. I think you can buy 24" corset and leave a gap about 1" between lacing. The fabric can a bit stretch ( 1/2" ). If you buy 26" corset it can be too loose around your bosom and hips. Than the front busk can partly open unwanted when you bend forward. The corset should be laced enough tight to prevent this.

Look in the size chart of seller or ask for underbust and hips circumference of laced corset. The size of an authentic corset is circumference of the corset at waist when it is fully laced.

To wear a corset under your dress choose some plain model without decoration around the corset. They create unwanted contours under your dress. Wear under your corset some liner.

When putting your corset on or off unlace it first. If you wear the stockings you should attache them to garters of your corset before lacing. You can't bend down when laced in your corset!! Ask someone for help with lacing and unlacing.

When you lace your corset yourself, use large mirror to see the laces at the back of your corset. Lace your corset only gradually and lace it up tighter after some time step by step first about 2" later up to 4". Don't lace up your corset at once. If you will feel it uncomfortable stop lacing and wait some time. Than you can tighten the laces again. When the corset is laced slowly, has no negative impact. The corset compresses lower ribs and waist. Lower ribs are flexible and they bend under the pressure of the corset together. Your body accommodates to the shape of your corset and internal organs adapt to this shape they are slight moved.

When you loose your corset shape of your body returns to its natural shape. When you will wear your corset for long hours the corset bones create pressure marks in your skin temporarily like a bra.

You can wear your corset occasionally or everyday for long hours, how you wish.

When you are corseted for first time try how to move, walk, sit down on a chair, get up and breathe laced in your corset. Corset wearing is a bit restrictive. It holds your body upright. You can't move like uncorseted before. When corseted you can feel sometimes uncomfortable. You can hardly bend down. It isn't easy to pick something from floor or slump in a chair when wearing corset.

But the proper corset creates wonderful hourglass figure with absolutely tiny waist, perfectly flat stomach and perfect posture.
