Why do Conservatives believe our government should protect Gun rights?

I know liberals may not recognize the constitution as a viable document but it ensures in the bill of rights, the second amendment "the right to bear arms".

We need weapons. The social contract clearly entitles us to have the ability to overthrow any over-controlling government. Therefore, the government should never get to Orwellian size and have ultimate control over the people. If our guns are taken away, what defense do we have?

In regards to the other persons answer above me, you're a close minded bigot. Yeah, a conservative is calling you a close minded bigot. Republicans care about all forms of life. From conception all life is sacred. A women's right to choose should never infringe on the declaration that we are all guaranteed "life, liberty, and prosperity"

2 Our government is contractually obligated to defend and protect all Amendments of the Bill of Rights.

3 We DO believe our government should defend the right of a worker to choose to join OR NOT a union.

4 Voters should be expectant that all vote under the same rules. Without fear of fraud nor intimidation.

5 A woman should be able to chose. Life or Death of her infant unborn. Equally supported in her choice. The unborn diligently provided for and the mother also if Life is chosen. Just as her decision for Death be without undue burden and shame. Respect for Life-Hers and the unborn is KEY.

They take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. The Bill of Rights is part of the Constitution. The 2nd amendment is part of the Bill of Rights.
