    No.

Heck they wouldve taken me, and I have scars that are basically black stripes across my hands. (An unfortunate incident involving sulfuric acid and pepsi YES I KNOW it was a bad idea. I kinda figured it out pretty fast. Where did I even get sulfuric acid...)

Have your recruiter post your scientific information for evaluation. The MEPS docs are very acquainted with self mutilation -- they are able to tell the version between an accident and self inflicted injury. including: in the adventure that your man or woman physician pronounced they are consistent with self mutilation, then you somewhat does no longer be eligible. Like I suggested, have the recruiter post the records -- it is the only way you will discover out for particular.

No as long as you have the proper paperwork you will be absolutely fine. They may not even document it at all. For my injury that was more severe I just had to have a specialist examine it and ask me a few questions and then was given the ok. You'll be absolutely fine and have nothing to worry about.

As long as you get cleared at MEPS you'll be fine. If the injury won't affect your physical performance then you should be fine. Just be honest to the recruiter and MEPS.

Source(s): I've seen some people with crazy scars in the Marines.
