I want to send a large bag of candy from the United States?
What is the best way to do this?
I'm sending it back to Australia to friends. Basically I want to buy quite a few packs of munchers chips, pop tarts, Reece's pieces and a few other things.. Kool aid as well. The bag would probably weigh like 10kg. I'm currently in the states, New York and want to send it from here. I'm still travelling for another 2 months so there's no way I want to carry it. I leave in 2 days back to the uk so I need to organise the shipping now. Any advice or comments would be much appreciated. Thanks :)

My sister in law often sends care packages back to her family in Russia, usually using the Post Office to do so. Because of customs and the Russian postal system, this usually takes 2-4 weeks for most packages. Shouldn't take as long sending something to Australia, but it might still be expensive.
The easiest way would be to go to a UPS Store or FedEx/Kinko's. Both offer mailing, shipping and packaging services and should be able to accomodate your needs. If you just need assistance in getting something packed up to mail, then try either of those locations or look for a Mail Boxes etc... store or other PO box provider - most offer mailing and packaging services as well.
You might be able to find shipping rates online for the USPS, UPS and FedEx. Also check DHL which still offers international shipping (I believe) and has some locations in the US.
It is winter time here, so outgoing the candies should be fine. I would check the weather at the destination though to see if the temperatures might be too extreme for chocolates and other candies. If so, then check into thermal insulation and cooling gel packs for your package as well.
