Which seems like the better use of money for a place to live?

I decided to live on campus next semester instead of at home, but now I'm reconsidering. The problem is if I cancel my contract now I would still have to pay $1,250, while if I live on campus it would cost about $4,000. I'm getting about $3,200 back for the semester, so if I live on campus I would use that to pay plus I would still owe about $800 which I could pay off by the end of the semester, plus personal expenses like cleaning and personal necessities, though food would be covered. If I live at home I would owe $1,250 for nothing, but still have some money left. I would rather not waste all that money if I don't have to, because I realize that's A LOT of money to get nothing out of. But does that sound like a better deal than moving on campus or not?

well at home do u have to buy your own food and such? consider gas getting to and from school, and if you live on campus, you could make life long friends which is priceless ;) and you find yourself a sense of freedom, on your own, its a great feeling really
