    no 09-46 would not be good for drop b tuning. The strings would be like spaghetti and you wouldn't be able to fret them. Try 12-56 or 11-54 gauges for drop b tuning. 10 and below can't handle that low of a tuning

    Go with gauge 12s. Something along the lines of Ernie Ball Beefy Slinkys or Not Even Slinkys. 09-gauges would just limp.
