can a car audio head unit remote wire be spliced twice; 1 to an active sub and 1 to an amp?
I have an active sub hooked up so no external amplifier in the car as of yet. I am looking to install a 2 channel amp to run my 6x9s but the remote wire that gives the sub the 12v it needs to start working is already obviously hooked up to this. So.... can i just splice the remote wire and send 1 to the the active sub and 1 to the amp. Will this still offer enough voltage to the sub and amp for it to come on when the ignition is on? Thanks in advance for any answers!

Yes you can. With just 2 components you should be fine. I read some of the other answers and they are NOT correct. You CANNOT splice into this wire as many times as you like, because the turn on circuit only sends out maybe 1/2 an amp of current. This is not enough to turn on multiple components, and can cause damage to the circuit, or just not turn on components at all. For more than 2 components you should ALWAYS use a relay to keep from damaging your head units remote turn on circuit.

yes you can tap that wire as many times as you need. all that wire does is send a 12 volt current to wherever the end location is after the car's ignition is turned on.

It is usually easier if you pass the wire from one amp to the other if they are both right next to each other. if not then yes its fine. there wont be any problems
