Does anyone see a problem with Obama giving Congress a pay raise?

I just read that he has signed an executive order giving VP Biden and Congress a pay raise that takes effect January 1st. Is this being hypocritical? He talks about how the rich can afford to pay more taxes then does this! Biden and congress can now afford the increase in taxes with their new pay raise!

Update:

Here is the link for the ones that don't believe this is true:

It's funny how Obama lovers are denying that this happened.

    >"Obama doesn't do that idiot"

    >"You have been lied to"

It's a fact, my friends! Are you now just upset that your messiah has done something questionable?

Do you bother to research the facts? You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. What he did was he ended a pay freeze that he initiated in 2010. The order includes ALL federal government employees and includes members of congress and the VP. He didn't sign an order specifically for members of congress. The raises are between 1/2 and 1 percent.

No president can give Congress a pay raise. Iris and Lonesome Rhodes are correct in that Obama lifted the freeze.

First off, where does he get the authority to give pay raises to any elected officials? I thought that responsibility belonged to congress.

Second, wasn't he denouncing the congress recently for incompetence, them he turns around and gives them a raise?

Even though this is a small increase, we cannot allow this to happen because it is essentially reinforcing Congress' unacceptable behavior. Let's show Congress that we do not approve their unwillingness to put the American people's interests ahead of their party's interests. We're tired of Congress' lack of accountability and irresponsibility. Click to take action, then share widely!

Like hell I do! Congress has done nothing in the past year, and Obama thinks they deserve a pay raise, as opposed to the millions of Americans in the ghetto who deserve a better life?

The hypocrisy is that when they talk about the "rich and wealthy" they are what they vilify. Haven't you also noticed that when the "rich and wealthy" are discussed that we completely ignore the fact that this overwhelmingly includes both our favorite entertainment and sports stars? Even as Congress votes in their own "counter measure" to what Obama calls "paying a fair share", how naive are we that we don't believe those same "stars" don't have their own little "Nebraska Compromise" to avoid an increase to paying their "fair shares"? Apparently its only "fair" if someone else pays it who is "richer than they"!

President Obama lifted the freeze on pay for federal workers, and that includes Congress.

Republicans are free to refuse their raises if they agree with you.

Hint: They won't. They'll just whine about OTHER federal workers getting raises.
