Absolutely, but there are a few things you want to consider before deciding to do that. First, are you going to use it on your face, or on other body parts likes hands and feet? The only place that you would want to be careful about applying it is your face. If you have dry skin, then vaseline might be just what it needs. Only put a very thin layer on, and if you feel like it makes your skin too oily then stop using it. If you have naturally oily skin, you should avoid vaseline and all heavy moisturizers at all costs.

Absolutely.
Petroleum jelly is an oil-based emollient that helps fill in gaps between skin cells and protects skin from the elements. It's great to use on your feet at night after your shower or bath. You can then put on a pair of socks (non-cotton) to keep the moisture in.

It's great for the body, but be careful not to apply too much if you decide to use it on your face. Eucerin or Cetaphil might be a better choice for your face if you have very dry skin.

I sometimes use it overnight for dry hands, but I wouldn't use it on my face because it would make it all oily.
