College Admission: Must have GED/HSDip. I don't have either?
I'm planning on applying for Full Sail University in Florida.
The admissions page says I must have a High School Diploma or a GED.
I don't have either of those, but I just turned 19 and I have an Associates Degree in English.
Do you know if most colleges / universities would take the Associates and let me go to their school even though I don't have a HSD or a GED? I want to get my Bachelor's Degree there.
Thanks!
I don't need financial aid.
I was home schooled until I was 14 when I started attending college.
My counselor at my current college told me that if I had my Associates degree that I wouldn't need a HSd or a GED... but I didn't tell him which college I wanted to attend and FSU has a lot of their own rules. They aren't on semesters or quarters, they run on 6 week terms, etc etc so I didn't know if they would accept me or not.

If you don't have a diploma or GED, you must earn one before attending a college. This is a new rule that went into effect 6 months ago; before that, colleges could take you based on the 'ability to benefit' rule, but no longer. In order to be eligible for federal financial aid, you need a diploma or GED. Call the school on Monday and find out if there's an exception for people who have a college degree, but be prepared to take the GED as soon as possible.

Dont listen to these comments.
I personally went to Full Sail for 2 months and left because I wanted to earn a real degree from an actual state university.
At the time, I transferred to Full Sail without my associates and I had some college credits. You will get accepted because you have a 2 year degree. In addition, Full Sail is a money hungry school. Alot of legit schools offer what they teach. First look around and dont be captured by their fake ads. What got me to go was the MacBook.
Full Sail is expensive.Look into Miami Dade college.

How did you get an associate degree without a high school diploma or GED? If the degree is legitimate, you should be able to pass the GED test.
