  • Compunding Interest on a Calculator?

I know how to compound interest, but my calculator keeps giving me wrong answers.

    I am using a Texas Instruments TI-30XIIS.

    Principle: 3000

    Rate: 7%

    Compound: Semiannual

    Time: 3yr.

In Mathway (online calculator) I enter: 3000(1+0.07/2)^2(3)

I get the correct answer, which is 3687.77

However, I have tried entering it into my calculator, and I always get the wrong answer.

Here are the ways I have tried:

    3000(1+0.035)^2(3)

    3000(1.07/2)^2(3)

    3000(1.07/2)^6

    3000(1+0.035)^6

    None of these work.

Any ideas what I can put into my calculator?

I cannot use Mathway when testing. I have to use my calculator.

    Thanks.

  • Payroll Software?

I am using QuickBooks Payroll Service.

I am not using anything else in the QuickBooks software.

They charge for the software, but also for payroll services.

I only need SIMPLE payroll services.

It's something I could probably do in Excel if I had time, but a program would be much simpler.

Are there any simple payroll programs for a decent price (that don't have all kinds of OTHER things for business?)

    Thank you for any suggestions!

  • Films with Masked Man like Phantom/Vendetta?

Are their any other films where the leading male role is masked because of scarring, etc?

As he is in Phantom of the Opera or V for Vendetta...

I have always found this theme to be very interesting and wondering if there was anything else like this out there. I prefer thriller/action/romance/drama.

    Thank you!

  • Estimate answer, multiply to find exact answer, simplify all answers?

I'm so horrible in maths. Could someone help me solve this?

I've done the other ones, but I can't get this one.

    2 1/2 * 2 1/4

    Exact: ?

    Estimate: ?

    (Topic: Multiplying Mixed Numbers)

I think the exact answer is 5 5/8 but I don't know the estimate or if I'm right.

    Thanks!

  • Weight/Height/Size/Muscle?

    I'm Female

    5'2"

    180lbs

Size 10 or 11 jeans around waist (belly button area). (I don't wear super skin tight clothes).

I have an hour glass figure, which only 8% of women have! :D (hour glass means equal shoulders and hips with thinner middle).

I am happy with my shape and figure.

    Eat healthy, exercise, take vitamins.

I have a large C cup bra (wont fit in C on a certain time of month LOL) and I have a 9 shoe.

I can lift 50 pounds easy. I haven't tried any heavier because my work doesn't require me to, but I'm sure I could. I'm very muscular for a girl and people tell me I look like I weigh 140ish.

Do you think I'm just muscular or fat? I don't trust my BMI because of my muscles.

I never eat fast food, blegh. Only healthy.

    What do you think?

    Thanks! :)

  • 'Solve Mysteries' Games-(no hidden objects!)?

I'm looking for games to play that take brains, like solving murder mysteries, etc.

I am a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes and detective shows, and I almost always know the ending.

I love to play Nancy Drew computer games by HER Interactive, but they take so long and are tedious.

A fact based game with a case file, or something like that would be the most intriguing for me.

If anyone can recommend anything for me, I would appreciate it.

Text based, online gaming, CD-ROM, whatever is fine.

Please, no hidden image games or video games like x-box, nintendo, etc.

    Thank you.

  • Good Rock Music Magazines?

I get Rolling Stone now, but I'm tired of the people (TV shows, bad music) they put on the cover and I'm tired of their liberal politics, as I'm a libertarian.

I just want music, but I want bigger names too and a good top 40 albums / reviews, etc.

I like Classic Rock, Punk, Folk, new Rock, etc.

    Any recommendations? Thanks!

  • Do CAPTCHA's steal information?

I have been having to type in CAPTCHA's on various websites.

Once, it asked to enter the four numbers.

(Hopefully coincidentally, they were the last four of my Social Security Number!)

And then today, the CAPTCHA was a phrase from my favorite television show, Doctor Who.

"Bowties Are Cool," Which isn't completely common. (Especially in America).

Is there anything weird I should know about CAPTCHA security checks to make sure you're human?

  • College Admission: Must have GED/HSDip. I don't have either?

I'm planning on applying for Full Sail University in Florida.

The admissions page says I must have a High School Diploma or a GED.

I don't have either of those, but I just turned 19 and I have an Associates Degree in English.

Do you know if most colleges / universities would take the Associates and let me go to their school even though I don't have a HSD or a GED? I want to get my Bachelor's Degree there.

    Thanks!

  • I have 31 "Likes" but still no Insights--FACEBOOK PAGE?

It says that after 30 "likes," you can use the "insights" feature...

The feature is not working for me. It still says "after 30 likes," even though the number under it is 31?

  • How Should I Watch Star Wars?

I've always been a bit of a nerd. I love Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc.

But I've never been into Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. I was told it wasn't really worth watching because it was "just knights and shining armor in space," so I never watched it.

    The big question is...

should I watch them in the order they were released?

Or should I watch them in the order they take place?!

I recently watched all of the X-Men movies, but I watched those in the order they took place, instead of when they were made, and I really really liked watching them that way better. I watched First Class, then Wolverine, then 1, 2, & 3.

So, any tips for a first timer considering watching Star Wars?

    Thanks!

  • Can You Name This Movie?

Made in the last 10 years, probably.

These people have to move to a house out of the way in another town. It has a widows walk/watch on top of the house. I think maybe a woman and her child move there, or something. It's a huge white house that needs fixing up, and there is a handyguy.

So, it's a darker movie, and there's this big deal with a huge tree near a crossroads.

Maybe someone was killed there? I'm not sure.

I just really remember the layout of the house. It's still full of really old furniture.

    I don't think that it's a horror movie, but it's creepy, I think. There's a happy ending.

    I'm sorry it's so vague.

Any suggestions on what it might be are appreciated.

  • Hosting website to fit my needs? One time use?

    I don't want a subscription. I won't use it more than once.

I'm a photographer and need to share my pictures via online as one large .zip file.

File Size: 700 MB as a .zip. (2,500 pictures)

Storage time: As long as I have the link! Infinity!

The websites I found, after I hit browse and hit "upload" I let it load for a few hours, and never moved off of 0%. There is nothing wrong with the speed of my internet, and it is unlimited, or the upload capabilities.

I always used to use Megaupload, but that site has been shut down.

    Thanks!

  • Kitchen Gadget That Tells if Meat is Fresh?

I once saw a TV show that told you about new and upcoming products...

    (Must have been on DIY,HGTV,etc)

They featured a little hand held machine that you could hold up to raw meat, and it would tell you if it was fresh to cook or not, or if it was bad and you should throw it away.

My friend has no sense of smell, and I want to buy this for her birthday.

Can someone please tell me what these are called, or who makes them?

I tied googling it, but I couldn't find anything.

    Thank you very much! :)
