How to paint quarry tiles?

I've looked everywhere, and everything I have found has been for flooring. Can I paint these tiles (I'm assuming they're quarry tiles... orangey tiles, they say made in Mexico on the bottom?) Does it matter what kind of paint I use on these considering they're on a coffee table... not a floor?

you want then to be heat resistant -there is a primer that you can buy to use before undercoat and top coat or two top coats which allow anything to stick to anything http://www.international-paints.co.uk/products/inf... then use whatever paint your like
