My dads not well and I have my exams?

My dad has been off work for 6 months and I don't think he realises how much it affects me :/

I've tried to talk about it but its too sensitive for dad...... I can't turn to anyone else because he doesn't want anyone to know he's ill........

It's been slowly stopping me from working properly and I have my GCSEs coming up within the next year......... Please can someone give me advice on how to keep up with my school work AND handle everything at home??

It would be hard under those circumstances to concentrate on studying. But as a parent, if i were sick and my sons were still living at home (they are grown now) and had those tests coming up, I would not want them to worry about me, but i would want them to concentrate on making the best grades possible. I hope you are not having to be a caregiver for your dad. Hopefully you still have the freedom to study, even it means having to go to a library rather than at home. Most parents do not want their child to give up their dreams for the future for the their sake, even if they are sick. No matter how sick your dad is, take time to do the necessary studying and make your dad proud of you. Make sure he knows you love him, but also (if you are not the caregiver) tell him you have to study. That is what i would want my sons to have done. And if by chance he is so sick that he passes away, don't feel guilty for taking time away from him to study. You are the one who will still be alive and you honor him by making a good life for yourself one day. But i do stress that when you are with him, make sure you express your love for him and do things for him to let him know how much you care.

And it never hurts to pray. If you have not been raised with faith in God, now is the time to find a relationship with God and pray.
