Question about FASFA?
When you fill out FASFA, is it applied to every school you apply to? Or just the one you're going to? Sorry, not really sure how this works at all if this question is stupid
thanks for all your answers! another question, if you listed a school on the FASFA form that you didn't end up applying to, what would happen? would they just disregard that?

Your FAFSA information will be sent to every school whose code you listed when you submitted it. They will then use the information to prepare a financial aid "package" for you that includes your eligibility for federal aid, and often aid from other sources as well. You can then compare the offers from all the colleges when making your decision about which one to attend. However, only the school that you enroll in and attend will administer and receive your actual aid.
You can only receive Pell grants at one college at a time. Technically speaking, you can receive loans at more than one school, but this if pretty unusual. For the most part, students will decide to enroll in one of the schools listed on their FAFSA, and that's where the aid will be sent.

It will only be applied to the school that you actually attend. Every school you apply to will have the ability to find out how much FASFA you qualify for, but only the school that you actually end up attending will get the FASFA.

Note: No more than 10 schools may be listed on your FAFSA at one time. (The paper and PDF FAFSAs have space for only four schools, while FAFSA on the Web allows 10 to be listed.) If you add an eleventh school, the new school code overwrites a previous school code. You may choose which school to replace with the new school. The school removed from the list will not have automatic access to any new information you provide after you’ve removed that school.
If you want to make your FAFSA information available to an additional school after filing the FAFSA, you may add that school’s Federal School Code.

How much financial aid you receive will depend on the school you attend because tuition is difference for every school--some more expensive than others, thus more aid (if you are eligible).
