Possibly, labor can come in your lower back. Mine came in the tops of my thighs and lower back. Think maybe ring your midwife and tell her or go for a check up as it may be a water infection, that is what i was told ( however they were wrong and i was 5cm gone). Good luck!!

Lower back pain can mean baby has moved back to back with your which causes intense pain or it could be labor in the back. They advise to watch out for 1-3 contractions every 5 minutes in which case its time to make a trip to the hospital. If the contractions become regular and intense call midwife or hospital and remember you can get support on the third trimester or labor and birth forums of http://www.babyandbump.momtastic.com/

It is a fact that no one condition reflects sciatica and it would be prudent to refer to it as a generic medical term encompassing lots of symptoms that taken together describe a lower back pain that a patient suffers from. When someone complains of severe back pain that passes down to legs through his buttocks, even down to his feet and toes, doctors suspect him to be suffering from sciatica. Often sciatica presents itself as numbness or a tingling sensation that may not be anything like the severe pain commonly associated with sciatica. This tingling or numbness may be felt by the person when he engages in some activities.

It sounds like it. Just make sure your timing the cramps/contractions. Call the doctor just in case if you get too concerned. The worst that could happen is they will tell you its not labor, and to go back home. Better to be safe, and get to the hospital early, than to be rushing to get there. If they are coming every 10 minutes or so, I would call the doctor. Good luck, and god bless!!!

Could be. Time them and when the end of one and the beginning of the next one is 5 minutes apart, head to the hospital. You might have a New Year's Baby if this is just early labor. Good luck!
