A Question about American politics..Isn't Congress supposed to work for it's citizens?

If Congress is not doing it's job ,why don't Americans demand term limits for Congress? They have them for the President? Why not for congress.?Might that not end some of that gridlock. Please explain to me.

    Yes, that's the general idea.

That's why we, as a nation, must start a movement to get a 28th Amendment passed.

We have to set real term limits for those who are supposed to be working for us.

Enough of all of the madness, the brinkmanship, the do-nothing.

The office of the President is by far the most powerful office in the country, this is why term limits have been put into place, to prevent an abuse of that power to maintain power.

Each house member must run for re-election every 2 years.

Each member of the House does not answer to all of the American people, or to the President, or even to the people of the state they represent, they answer only to the small district that elected them.

If you look at a Red and Blue map of the states in the 2012 Presidential election, it is not hard to see why Congress is divided.

President Obama won 26 states and DC and Romney won 24 states. It does not get much more evenly divided than that.

    Hope that helps.

The Republicans, are doing a bang up job, of replacing career politicians, with Tea Baggers... A lot of career Republicans, are running scared, for fear they'll be out premiered, by the far right... As it stands right now, the Tea Baggers, could care less, what the majority thinks.. They've got 30 governors, out of the 50 states, & those 30 governors, are doing an excellent job... Of gerrymandering, cutting voting days, voter suppression, & voter intimation... Once gerrymandering, is put in place, in any given state ... It can take three votes, to over ride,,, every one, gerrymandered vote... At that rate, why should they care, what you think ?

The election of 2012 showed Americans wanted the status quo by electing incumbents from Obama to their Senators to their Representatives. If Americans wanted to be helped they would have voted all the bums out, but they chose to keep them in power so they must be sadists, and will get what they deserve.
