Why is Obama willing to throw the middle class under the bus by letting their tax cuts expire?
@Monkey- he doesnt want to keep the middle class tax cuts badly enough to sign on to extending them.
@Romare- It only takes Obama signature to extend the tax cuts and he doesnt seem to be wiling to do it. It doesnt get anymore straightforward than that

Obama is economically illiterate. He is playing "chicken" with our money and our lives. He has NO feeling for the struggles of others. All he cares about is winning. that's it. He wants to raise taxes on the job creators because he hates the successful white man. People don't realize it but the taxes that are going up tomorrow are more than just tax rates. Everyone will be hit by his other tax increases - they're just not talking about all those. On our next pay checks, our federal taxes will increase by 2%. Under Bush they were 4.2%, but obama's letting the payroll tax expire and our taxes will go up 2%. Watch it on your next check.

A tax cut with an expiration date is an economic stimulus plan. It either worked or it didn't. In either case, the plan is over, as the expiration date is nigh. Time to try something else. I still don't have a job, so obviously it didn't work well enough.

It's funny how many folks have fallen for the marketing. Both teams passed bills that they want - but the other team hates. Now they both blame the other team for not voting for the bill they passed.
Sheesh!

Obama wants to keep the middle class tax cuts and eliminate tax cuts for those making above $250k.

Your premise is false. The President is not doing that. Your team lost the election, and America won.

DUH
He is not
He is negotiating a solution... (It is illegal to shoot republicans)
But middle class should be safe...
And "Throwing the middle class under the bus" is a bit of an exaggeration
So even if your taxes go up a bit, life will not end.
Are you committed to America or not?

So far he is the only one standing up for us. All the republican proposals raise middle class taxes

Actually, that's congress. He stated he would sign the bill if it kept those cuts.
