Why was my Answer Reported & Removed? Do you think it was fair?

I answered a question with respect to some one asking " How to wrap a fragile article from breaking when sending it by parcel ? " My answer was Bubble Wrap " The answer was reported and removed.from the Answers and I lost 10 points. I can not appeal this because, the appeal time has elapsed.. Do you think it was fair? I am sure I followed the community guidelines.

No, it was not fair, because the answer is NOT a violation, by any stretch of the imagination.

Someone just made a mistake, when they reported it.

    The Guidelines state:

"When you post an answer, it must attempt to answer the question being asked."

    http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&y=PROD...

Your answer *did* answer the question being asked (and it was the perfect answer).

It is NEVER a violation to give a short, "one word answer" (in your case, a Two-word answer).

Although -as another answer has stated- it is true that gangs of people can get together and report/delete anything- even non-violations. :-(

I would appeal anyway, even if you've missed the deadline. Here is an alternate appeal form:

I can't guarantee a response, but it cannot hurt to try.

You *did* follow the Community Guidelines; the fault is not yours. :-)

To be honest I cannot understand why your answer was reported, as Bubble Wrap is a correct answer for wrapping a fragile article. I can only assume that whoever reported the answer has never heard of Bubble Wrap or it is called another name in their country. It is a pity that you cannot appeal as for the life of me I cannot think of a good reason why it was reported, unless just answering with Bubble Wrap was not a sufficient answer for someone.

No that is not fair, i just asked a question 'Did you have a good new year?' which got deleted. And as far as i know that did not break the rules. I wish they would tell you how you violated the guidelines and whether you got reported by a member or by Yahoo itself.

it must be any of the above. i latterly had an answer reported and deleted. It in contact 2 human beings of diverse religious backgrounds and asked for advice on a thank you to handle a situation. i think of had I no longer suggested any religious team or pronounced Christian rather the question could a minimum of nonetheless be there and probably suited with the aid of now. I have been given various thumbs up on it till now it replaced into pulled. i think of a few would sense they have a God-given duty to "punish" you for arguing with them or for no longer being a evaluate their religious team. i won't see you asking something that merits to be reported. i could recommend you attraction it and obtainable additionally evaluate incredibly rewording it and asking it returned. And, If i will escape with this, i could recommend you spot which of your contacts you could privately digital mail and seek for advice from on a thank you to be conscious it so as that it will no longer be deleted returned. i think of it rather is legal, yet asking you to digital mail me does not be so I now no longer do this. As for mine, i desperate to enable it slide. I lost one answer, yet because of the fact the asker has additionally blocked me i think that if I gained an attraction, that particular could out of a feeling of revenge commence reporting something and each thing of mine and could in all probability get me banned. on the least it could waste a great deal of my time. i think of I even have helped some human beings right here and could prefer to maintain doing that and dedicate my time to helping particularly than struggling with. yet returned, I recommend you attraction it and additionally re-ask your question. and that i'm hoping you're around for a protracted time yet and picture in the event that they ever easily did a Yahoo! solutions corridor of acceptance, you would be between the 1st in it. you could somewhat get my vote.

In my view it is a 'one word answer' and a violation.

I feel you should have sounded you wanted to be helpful and written 'bubble wrap' in a sentence.

Others will disagree with me, but it takes only a few users to agree with me to report it, and it will be history.

It is one of those if you had appealed you may have won your points back.
