How to cure my fear of flying?
Hi! My name is Lily. My mom wants to take me on a trip to Vegas in March. I am really excited, I love spending time with her and I love traveling, but I have recently developed a fear of flying. I wouldn't call it a phobia, but I am very cautious and it just makes me really uneasy. The thought of crashing makes me scared. I already have anxiety and a fear of elevators. None of these are serious, but I would like to feel comforted. I have considered just sleeping through the whole flight, but it is very hard for me to sleep sometimes. I don't want to try one of those on-line trials, because this is not a phobia. I just want to be able to have a good time. Please, no trolls. This is serious. So, if you have experience with this type of thing or just think your idea might help, let me know. Thanks.

first, karate dave is an *** dont listen to him. i have this same fear. i hate planes. but, for the last two years, i have had to fly 8 times. 6 of the times i was alone. and im only 15 and i have bad aniety. what helps me is to get my mind away from whats freaking me out. journaling helps me a lot! write about how long your flight is, what you see, how life is, the people around you exc. bring something to listen to music. read a book. and try to relax. dont think about how high up you are. avoid looking out the windows until you have calmed down. i dont know your religious standing, but pray, and talk to God. find a verse that comforts you and, when you get nervous, repeat it to yourself over and over again. breathe and tell yourself that its going to be alright. personally, all those things have helped me, but i also have a teddy bear that i bring with me and im really comforted by that.(ive had him for 11 years). good luck, hun! dont stress yourself out.

Sitting in a plane is exactly like sitting in a bus. You have no control and yes the vehicle might have an accident. There is a sense of claustrophobia and in not having the freedom to pick your neighbors as well. The good side is that they give you soda on the plane, and there are seat belts, and usually a hidden federal marshal somewhere on the plane. Just don't look out the window. Watch the other passengers, how calm they are.
There ought to be more fear in being robbed or arrested in staying in Vegas than taking a flight. Have a nice trip!

To get over the fear you need to go on the flight and experience it ,your more likely to crash in a car then a plane ,maybe bring something to keep your brain occupied like a book or a videogame or even an mp3 player and headphones listen to some music whatever suits your fancy.

The best thing I can recommend is conquering your fear and not dwelling on it. Take something to read or listen to for your flight to keep your mind occupied. You can always go to the doctor and tell them about your fear of flying. He/she gave give you xanax. That way you will probably sleep the whole flight. They will calm your mind as well. You can take one going and one coming back. It won't harm you if you are just taking them for this occasion only. good luck!

Take a flying lesson. Nothing puts you in control of your fears like a working knowledge of what is going on.

Lots of terrorism these days!
BOOM!
CRASH!!
SMASH!!!
Goes the air craft tumbling out of control, people being sucked out tiny holes blood splattering everywhere, the engine on one side is out of control makes a loud noise on the other side the engine has stopped a silent eeriness occurs,
SUDDENLY!!
The aircraft rips itself apart and everyone inside is scattered into a free fall towards a concrete surface, certain death will happen, you are in terror but theres NOTHING you can do!

Would you be thinking about the flying if the person of your dreams offered you a ticket to a tropical destination?
