Programs always leave junk behind. Like temporary set up files or when you play a game the program may build up a folder with preferences and settings etc etc.
Two choices are;
1) Install and run "CCleaner" if you need more cleaning CCleaner has a 2nd addon called "CCEnhancer" which will find extra files.
2) Get a free version or "Revouninstaller" it has a section that will find whats left behind after uninstalling a program. Basically you type in the name of your program and it finds stuff.
It's best to use Revouninstaller to uninstall your program while it's installed as it uses the programs uninstaller then searches for additional entries.
If you still have problems reinstall the game, this time use Revouninstaller to install the program (it will over-write the previous installation in the same locations) then uninstall it with Revo and it will take out everything.
Last thing. Some programs build caches in your documents folder.
