wow~ no way i could listen the whole way through the sufjan stevens song- that's sad from the opening line :( but yeah, the manics are amazing. best thing to come out of wales, apart from my mate aled. & some really good welsh cheese (im a BIG cheese fan. its the finest food).

actually, with the cure, i find it really hard to separate the sound of the song from the lyrics. i dont think they wrote especially good lyrics most of the time, but the whole twang of the guitars, production, and smiths' vocals just raise everything so high you never notice. ordinary stuff becomes really invidious, or bleak or whatever.

One of them is "I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn black" Heart Shaped box is a beautiful song, there is just something about it. Nirvana is great. Climbing up the walls by Radiohead gives me that vibe too.
