Anyone have any idea...?
On what other animals I can add to our family that are low maintenance and small?
I don't want another cat, no dog, no lizards, amphibians, birds. Just something different. If so, please let me know what you've thought of.
No smarta$$es please!

The only things you excluded from your list include small animals. Meaning hamsters, bunnies, gerbils, rats, chinchillas, etc. Deciding on which is best for you is determined by how much time and effort you can put into it. A hamster is the lowest maintenance of them all.

Rats. They're the most affectionate of the small animals I've had, and I've had them all. They have adorable little tails that wrap round your hand for extra support, and love to sit on your shoulder. They don't run away or fidget as much either, and their hands are so small and soft! :) If you don't like rats what about chinchillas?
