Is it safe to microwave food that is wrapped in aluminium foil?

While it's technically safe, it's not good for your microwave. To those saying it'll start a fire, it won't, I did straight tinfoil in a microwave before for 6 minutes, first 3 minutes with a flat sheet, then 3 minutes with two balls of it arcing back and forth. The microwave still worked, there was no fires, but it probably shorted the lifespan of the microwave and it caused some burn marks on the bottom. But to get a fire from tinfoil you'd have to practically fill it with a whole roll's worth and microwave it for 20 minutes but the microwave would probably break before it could catch fire.
So my verdict is, not smart to do, but not as hazardous as others here think it is. Plastics are far more likely to catch fire than metal. The only things that resulted in fires that I microwaved were oil based or plastic based, not metal based.

No due to the aluminum . Put it in a plastic container or wrap it in clingfilm I'm not very technical but that should sort it out in order for you to microwave .
