A balance of everything, lower fat and sat foods though (so like cut down on the take aways)

Also remember its not just about what you eat, its about the TIME of the day you have it, so like you shouldn't have fruit at night times because that will just store as fat and make the problem worse.

And make sure your getting 1hr 30 mins of excersize a day minimum, more is better. And joining the gym will help.

Lots of fruit and vegetables. Low fat dairy. Lean meats and proteins like chicken. Nuts. Whole grains.

Don't let anyone tell you that you can't eat starch and dairy. You CAN but you just need to watch your serving sizes. Make sure your dairy choices are low fat or non-fat and any breads and pastas you have are whole grain. Potatoes are okay, too, in moderation-- basically, don't think you can have one at every meal.... A general serving size of fresh fruits and vegetables is the size of your fist.

For snacks, focus on freshness. Fruits and veggies. Dips are ok but again, WATCH YOU SERVING SIZE. Nuts are an excellent snack when you're being active-- running, hiking, exercising-- because they are packed full of protein which gives you energy. Low-fat yogurt or cottage cheese.

Meals-- Only eat red meats in moderation. They tend to be higher in fat. Stick with leaner meats like chicken, turkey, cornish game hen... Fish and most varieties of seafood are great options, too.

Legumes, beans, peas... all great options. WATCH YOUR PORTIONS. Eggs, too.

    Good luck! :)
