Ok so I have had head lice since I was in year 2 and now I'm in year 9. I have had them for 7 years I find this has discounting as you are finding it. I have tried EVERYTHING: KP24, theatre, conditioner, steaming, and other types of lice remove treatments. I really want to be a model and my dad says I can't because no make up artist would want to touch my hair... I am a girl and I have hair that goes down to my shoulder blades but I have had a bob before. Please help me!!!!

I had success in ridding myself of lice by using peppermint oil. I had very long hair (to my waist) and didn't want to cut it. I bought essential oil of peppermint, and put 10 or so drops in a bottle of shampoo, and shook it up. I shampoo'd, let it sit for a few minutes, and rinsed it off. The mint feels very cold on the ears and scalp, but it works. Peppermint oil is very strong, so be careful not to use too much. It's worked very well for both me, and a relative who's a schoolteacher.
You probably also need to take measures to make sure the lice eggs don't survive on your bedding and clothes. Wash your things in very hot water, and tumble dry hot. Use bleach on your whites.
Likewise, any hairbrushes, hair ties, things like that, will need to be thrown away or thoroughly sanitized. Make sure you're not being reinfected by some other source, that is a -very- long time to struggle against the evil little buggies. Good luck, hon!

I presume you have asked your doctor to send you to a specialist? The heat in Australia cant help.I have enclosed a link to an article on the problem. Perhaps cutting your hair a certain extent may help. I would wash it twice daily making sure you use conditioners.
