Sick dog after the groomers?
My dog has always gone to the same groomers every month for a year and been fine.
The last two times she has been she's had a high temperature later that evening and been really miserable. I took her to the vet who did the usual anti inflammatory/ antibiotics thing. The first time it happened I did#t think that it could be as a result of going to the groomers but that it was a stomach bug or something, after the second time I figured it must be the groomers.
She will not be going back ever. It seems terrible that she's probably getting so anxious there that she is making her self sick, I feel very guilty about it but she seemed fine when I picked her up. I was wondering however if other people had similar experiences, what they think the cause was and whether it might be worth trying a different groomer in a few months - (one where I can stay and watch I think!).

It could be anxiety,
One of my dogs used to get upset and throw up when he had to go to a former groomer.
But since the groomer we have now is mobile and comes to us, he is fine.

What was the vet's opinion? Did he/she specifically say stress or anxiety, or did he/she discuss other possibilities with you?
If the dog is stressed out by going to the groomer, then changing groomers isn't really going to help. A groomer is a groomer is a groomer. We all do the same exact thing so she is going to be "stressed" wherever you take her.
Unless the groomer you are using is being abusive or rough with her (was it the same groomer every time btw?) then that stress isn't going to just "miraculously" disappear when you go to someone new. In fact changing her routine and bringing her someplace completely new may very well be MORE stressful.
Have you discussed this with her groomer and with the vet at length? Have you ruled out something like illness or upset from ingesting something she shouldn't have? It's also entirely possible that instead of stress, the groomer just fed her a treat that didn't agree with her. Or the water could be contaminated.
Out of the hundreds of dogs i have groomed (most of them repeat customers) i only have one dog that stresses so badly that she makes herself ill. It's not actually that common, especially if the dog has been perfectly fine for several visits.
You're right o be concerned, though. Something is definitely up.
PS - Keep in mind that a lot of groomers will not let you watch unless they have a viewing area set up. Having you present may affect the dog's behavior and make the dog harder to work with.

SOME PLACES USE TREATS TO HELP WHIT DOGS, PERHAPS YOU COULD ASK THEM NOT TO USE THEM, MORE OFTEN WATER GET INSIDE THE EARS AND THIS COULD LEAD TO RISE TEMPERATURE AND DISCOMFORT, THEN YOU TALK TO YOUR GROOMER ABOUT TO USE AN EAR SOLUTION THAT GASIFIDE WATER IN THE EARS AND GET RID OF IT, EITHER WAY TALK TO YOUR GROOMER ABOUT THE ISSUES AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS, OR CHANGE GROOMER,
