If the people of the islands want to be part of the United Kingdom then all sides should respect that decision. Unfortunately if we go back into time Spain its self couldn't really claim to have owned the territories that are now occupied by Argentina. They were take off the native people the resided before those invasions. Also war is the worst possible outcome. Argentina nor the UK need another one, when sensible negotiation is the way forward.

You don't have the ability to go to war with them and there more then just the Falklands there is also some islands in the south of Argentina the brits lay claim too I believe called southern sandwich islands
\After the last war the saying in Argentina ''we can beat the British but not the Americans'' don't think your going to get American back up this time

Jesus, and Americans are considered violent.... anyways.... i think the Falklands are in a catagory kinda equivalent to old world issues. it should be diplomatic for Argentina's sake. If they got into conflict again with Britain, i can see lots of blood

I'm sorry but you sound like someone who has never actually been in a war.
Wars should only be fought when all other options have been exhausted or you have come under direct attack and defending yourself.
A bit of blustering is a common occurrence and the world would be in constant conflict if countries reacted militarily to every blow hard politician.sprouting lines for domestic purposes.

The People who live there are British. If the Argies want to go again, they'll get another good hiding.
END OF STORY.
LMFAO @ some of the American comments. Britain doesn't need septic tanks to fight British wars.

Look it up historically and you will see why the Falklands islands do indeed belong to Argentina. The whole thing that Falkland islanders want to be British is nothing but crap. Of course they want to be British most of them are decent of British. Had the Islanders been decent French then they would want to be French territory not British.
Here reasons why rightfully and legally belongs Argentina
-That sovereignty of the islands was transferred to Argentina from Spain upon independence, a principle known as uti possidetis juris.
-That Spain never renounced sovereignty over the islands, even when a British settlement existed.
-That Great Britain abandoned its settlement in 1776, and formally renounced sovereignty in the Nootka Sound Convention. Argentina has always claimed the Falklands, and never renounced its claim.
-That the British dropped their claim by acquiescence by not protesting the many years of pacific and effective Spanish occupation, after the abandonment of Port Egmont.
-That the re-establishment of British rule on the Falklands (referred to as an "act of force" by Argentina) was illegal under international law, and this has been noted and protested by Argentina since 17 June 1833.
-That the principle of self-determination is not applicable since the current inhabitants are not aboriginal and were brought to replace the Argentine population
-That the Argentine population was expelled by an "act of force" in 1833.
-That the islands are located on the continental shelf facing Argentina, which would give them a claim, as stated in the 1958 UN Convention on the Continental Shelf.
-That Great Britain was looking to extend its territories in Americas as shown with the British invasions of the RÃo de la Plata years earlier.

Go to war with them with what? Compared to 1982 we have less than half the naval resources now. We had two carriers in 82 today we have none, and even if we had a carrier we don't have any carrier capable aircraft. We don't even have any RAF harriers we could use on a carrier.

IMHO after extensive reading on the subject at the Air University, Maxwell AFB, AL, the islands in fact do belong to Argentinia. The British know it but have gotten themselves in a hole and can not get out without losing face.

Quite frankly without Margaret Thatcher. I don't think you stand much of a chance.
