1999 Chevy blazer 4x4 No oil pressure?

I just bought a 1999 chevy blazer 4x4. i drove it +60 miles back home with no problems what so ever but after i did a basic tune up(spark plugs, plug wires, oil/filter change, thermostat(which i have to take back since its stays open), and air filter. I then drove it around town for a bit and all the sudden i lost oil pressure and didnt have any power when trying to accelerate so i eventually got back home with it and when i got back home from work(6 hrs later) i started it up to pull it in the garage and it had oil pressure again(20 at idel and 40 when driving down the road)

I did notice the oil filter that was on it was way smaller then the one i got and i made sure the one i got was the right one.

it has 138k miles. Do i need thinker oil?(i used 10w-30) or is my oil pump going out?

do you hear any knocking in the engine ? if not then the engine is getting oil so it can,t be the oil pump or a rod bearing ! i would say change the oil sending unit down at the oil filter ! the loss of power i don,t think it,s coming from the oil, it could be because the cat. starting to clog up !
