Blue screen of death on my PC. What caused it?
I've been getting this blue screen of death quite often recently (around twice or 3 times a month). What is usually the problem? Is it software? Hardware? Both? Depends?
Thing is, I didn't install stuff that I don't need. I only install apps that I'll use like browsers, games and whatnot. That sort of stuff. I sort of just happened on its own.
I'm using Windows 7 RAM 6gb i7 processor.

It could be anything from hardware to software.
Any new hardware installed?
Any new software installed?
Any updates before BSOD?
Was it working before BSOD? << if it working before it might be anything from bad updates, bad hardware, bad software...
I would start removing all but the basic to see if it will stay on.
even dropping your memory down to 2 gb, only have power supply, MB, 2gb, proc, video card (maybe if you have an on board video use it)

We really couldn't tell you, it could be a multitude of reasons. When it does occur, there is typically an error code displayed. That can help narrow down the cause.

There are endless possibilities of the cause. The way to fix it is more important. You may want to system restore or reformat altogether.

It could be your anti virus software, if you have a firewall in that and also your security center as well, it could be that. You could also have a problem with you registry system as well.
