Daughter wants a Red Iguana?
Do you think we could provide the right home? She saw it at the store and fell in love with it, (It is young, very friendly) She held it and he fell asleep. I know they will get huge, so I want to make sure before we are more serious about this,
First:
Somebody is always home (I work days, husband works nights) in case of an emergency.
- We have 3 cats (Note: Iguana won't be out of cage unsupervised)
- Will have bigger tanks as he grows. Right now it woud be a 20 gallon (He is small still)
What size tank will he need full grown?
And he will be fed the iguana pellets and vitamins, and they vegetables/fruit,
PS- I am the daughter (My mom wrote this on my account)
Eeeek,,,'
Maybe a gecko. lol

An adult iguana is a very aggressive lizard. They may be docile when young, but when they're adults they get mean and their bites can hospitalize you. An adult iguana needs a cage that is a minimum of 8 feet long, 6 feet wide, and 6 feet tall.
If you want a real eye opener, google "iguana bite". I hope you have a strong stomach.
