If your thinking about entering the Sacrament of Holy Orders looking to make money your going into it for the wrong reasons. Besides Diocese Deacons, Priests, and Bishops don't earn that much in fact Religious Deacons and Priests don't earn any money rather their needs are taken care at the expense of the Catholic Church.
A typical Diocese Priest gets an allowance and they earn from $15,000-$30,000 a year, of course some of their other expenses are taken care of for them by the Catholic Church. And to become a Priest is about 8 years of schooling for a Deacon it's about 4 years.
If you want to become a permanent Deacon I would advise getting a 4 year bachelor degree in another field like teaching, or something of that nature than all you have to do is get a regular degree in Catholic theology then get Ordained. You will have a regular career in whatever field you choose and then you can preform your Deacon duties outside of your career. That's if you are worried about how the money will be paid back.
