Martial art knee problem?
Im learning a new martial art called muay chaiya, and i love it! The only problem is that it teaches to block with your knee instead of your shin. Would blocking with your knee be a bad idea? Is there a part of the knee that would be best to block with?

I think it would be, if you block wrong you will mess up your knee.
I'm not saying it won't work. But you better have a great teacher that knows the in's and out's of blocking with the knee. It's something I would not do
The best part to lock with would be the same part I use to strike with. Which isn't easy to explain on the Internet. Your teach should explain it to you so you get it right.

Nope. I do it all the time. It's a perfectly acceptable way to block, actually harder than using your shin. It's the same as blocking with your elbow instead of your forearm. Difficult to get used to, but very effective.
