What should/can I uninstall to make my computer run faster?

I own a desktop computer which i use at home & it seems to be lagging/freezing at random times. I scan for viruses repeatedly and none are in my PC which I am aware of.

Model: Advent DT2111

Processor: Intel Core i5-2320 3.0GHz

Memory: 8GB(2X4GB)

Hard Drive: 2TB

Graphics: ATI HD 6670 GB

There are certain obvious programs I will not be uninstalling however I simply want others opinions on what programs actually do & if I should keep them ect.

It does not really matter what programs are installed, it is the number of programs running simultaneously that affects the speed. Also, some antivirus programs can slow down operation more than others. If you don't have enough RAM the computer will spend a lot of time swapping programs between RAM and your hard drive.

By the way, if anybody tells you to delete your system32 folder, take no notice! Doing so will destroy your operating system and require a complete re-installation.

Games use up a lot of resources, but you computer should be able to handle them, but get rid of any you no longer play Norton 360 is usually a resources hog too Run a full disc clean to get rid of temp files, temp internet files and other un-needed files. Then run a defrag program. This should help speed it up a bit. You should also run a disc scan to make sure there are no corrupted files
