Former outside cat pregnant?

I am not a "cat person". This is my first cat. She was formally an outside cat but, had a litter of kittens while with my daughter. She (my daughter) moved back in with me with the Momma, Dad, and all 3 kittens. I love this "Momma" now. (She caught 2 rats in my home) She is now, pregnant again from same male cat. As soon as possible, I want to get her spayed after she has her new kittens. But, what I really like about her is that she is an outside cat. She shows NO interest in going outside right now. She is not a lap-cat. I like that.

1. How soon after she has her kittens can I get her spayed?

2. How soon after she has her kittens can I let her outside?

3. How can I make sure she comes back here after letting her outside? (at night, etc) I still want her to be my cat/friend.

Update:

If your girlfriend is a cat, please don't answer.

Update 2:

I made it CLEAR that this cat came to me with a litter of kittens AND previously an outside cat. I have NO experience with cats, you freaking hippy, cat-loving asses. Stop attacking me for asking for your hippy loving help! Freaking, animal-loving, people-hating JERKS!

Personally, spay her now..while pregnant. I know it sounds heartless but up to 90% of "free" kittens end up being euthanized later in a shelter. there are just too many unwanted cats out there already.

Technically, you can spay her when the cats are finished nursing (approx 5-6 weeks) without interrupting her milk flow. The kittens should remain with mom for a full 9 weeks to ensure proper socialization though so suggest waiting until then just so they aren't climbing all over her while she heals. Just keep her indoors until then as she may become pregnant again in that time.

Cats that are allowed outdoors have an average lifespan of approximately 5 years; indoor cats 15 years. If she wants to be indoors, this is a much safer option. It also protects the birds which cats decimate at an incredible rate. Either way, please make sure she is up to date with her vaccines and microchipped.

Lastly, if she is being fed and has a safe place, she will come "home." But please, consider keeping her indoors...and spaying immediately.

Uggg. KNOWING they weren't altered why'd you let them to interact? Bad enough you had one litter and killed shelter cats and kittens that won't be adopted now here you are with a SECOND litter? What's your excuse for not altering them? If it's money there's low cost and even FREE spay/neuter programs all over. Do at LEAST have the decency to spay/neuter the kittens before they go out. And get that first litter altered. If they're four months or older they could already start impregnating each other.

    1. As soon as the kittens are weaned which is around eight weeks. SHE CAN GET PREGNANT AGAIN AS SOON AS FOUR WEEKS AFTER GIVING BIRTH so get the male neutered NOW along with any other male kittens that are four months or older in your home.

    2. How about NEVER? Why do you "like it" that she's an outside cat? Cats allowed to free roam end up run over by cars, eaten by coyotes, killed by loose dogs, picking up diseases from other cats, etc. If you can't - or won't - keep her indoors then give her up to a no-kill shelter so she can find someone that WILL.

    3. You can't - and one of the above will surely happen to her.

Idk if you can neuter a cat when she is nursing her kittens. I would call a vet to see if thats ok. Give her until her kittens are able to eat cat food to let her go outside. Unless you have a cat door so that she can go in and out then that would be better because you wouldn't have to worry about having to let her in and out to feed her kittens. But if you don't then give her a few weeks before letting her stay outside during the day. Those kittens eat a lot and need to be kept warm so they are gonna need her all day.

Put her on a routine. Let her out to stretch her legs but call her in to be fed and sleep. If you do this regularly she will begin to do it on her own. She'll cry and scratch at the door to be let in for sleep and to be fed.

i could placed across her in some weeks till now than the transport to enable her settle. which you're able to ensure the kittens are healthful - they are going to now no longer be at hazard from ticks etc. Mum may well be front-lined to get rid of fleas to scale decrease back parasites that could sap the stress. The kittens can then be nicely socialized, nevertheless if mum is in simple terms too feral this could increasingly propose removing them from right here quickly after weaning. i could additionally recommend that the mummy be saved in different than the kittens are able to homestead. this could increasingly greater stop her getting into any injuries - you do no longer particularly prefer to ought to bottle feed till think ofyou've have been given to. she could have the skill to additionally replace into pregnant returned very quickly, i've got had a queen get pregnant whilst kits have been 3 weeks old (whilst we trapped her) and he or she or he went directly to have one greater lot. you additionally can then get her spayed and then enable her out.

In order for your cat to stay your friend you can kidnap the kittens and then tell her that you will sacrifice one every day that she doesn't hang out with you.
