What does dry cleaning do? Can I get my jacket dry cleaned?
I have this Spongebob Jacket (hoody) that I love but I have washed it before but it still has stains and I want it to look fresh so I was wondering if I got it dry cleaned if that would help/make it look good. If dry cleaning doesn't work or won't help what should I do.

Take the jacket to a dry cleaner and ask to talk with the manager, get his opinion as he/she is looking at your concerns. My grand parents and folks were dry cleaners and they performed amazing work, they solved numerous cleaning problems. Dry cleaners use solvent instead of water.

Dry cleaning is meant for garments that can't tolerate water, it does nothing special to get rid of most stains. You did not mention what the stain was as this matters.
There are three typical ways to get stains out.
1) Use a degreaser if the stain is caused by a grease like substance, or a petroleum solvent if a petroleum based substance.
2) Bleach it away with chlorine bleach if the fabric is color fast, which it probably is not. Bleach it away with hydrogen peroxide, from a drugstore OR found in many laundry products such as detergents with whitening/bleaching action or oxyclean.
3) Use a detergent or spot treater that has enzymes that eat away the stain, this is more often useful for protein based stains. Pre-soaking the jacket with this option is your best bet, but if it has already been washed and dried you have probably set the stain permanently and then it is less likely that all of it will come out.
