It sounds a little nerdy but it depends on his expression. Is he sincerely saying it or jokingly? If he's sincere he probably likes "her"

If he is a serious kind of guy.... face palm* If he is a joker, he may be flirting with you and trying to test the waters without out directly saying he likes you. Flirt back and see his reaction. Thats the only way you will really know.
